Empowering Young Women Through Beauty and Wellness Skills

Economic independence begins with access to skills, opportunities and confidence. To support young women in building sustainable livelihoods and exploring self-employment opportunities, PAHAL launched the Skin and Hair Care Training Programme in July 2022 in support with SOSVA.

The programme aims to equip participants with practical and professional beauty and wellness skills that can be used for employment, self-employment or entrepreneurship within the growing beauty and wellness sector. Through structured learning and hands-on training, participants develop technical expertise while building confidence, professionalism and customer service skills.

By providing market-oriented vocational training, PAHAL seeks to create pathways for financial independence and personal growth among young women.

Programme Overview

The Skin and Hair Care Training Programme combines theoretical learning with practical experience to provide participants with industry-relevant knowledge and skills. Participants receive hands-on experience that helps them build confidence and develop practical skills required in professional beauty and wellness settings.

Creating Livelihood Opportunities

The programme is designed to support young women in pursuing employment and self-employment opportunities within the beauty and wellness industry.

By acquiring professional skills and practical experience, participants are better positioned to explore opportunities such as:

  • Employment in beauty salons and wellness centres
  • Freelance beauty services
  • Home-based beauty services
  • Establishment of independent beauty parlours and enterprises

The programme helps participants develop both technical competence and entrepreneurial confidence, enabling them to pursue livelihood opportunities that contribute to their economic independence.

Building Confidence and Independence

Beyond vocational training, the programme encourages personal growth, self-confidence and professional development. Participants gain valuable life skills, improve communication abilities and develop the confidence needed to interact with clients and manage professional responsibilities.

Through this initiative, PAHAL supports young women in becoming skilled, confident and self-reliant individuals capable of contributing positively to their families and communities.

Our Vision

PAHAL believes that skill development plays a vital role in empowering women and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through the Skin and Hair Care Training Programme, we aim to equip young women with practical skills that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship and economic independence.
