10+ Years Serving the Transport Community
Free Healthcare Services Including Health Screening, Counselling, Testing and Referral Support
Since 2015, the Apollo Tyres Health Care Centres have been providing accessible healthcare services to truck drivers, members of the transport community and other vulnerable groups. Through awareness programmes, counselling, disease screening and medical support, the centres have helped improve health awareness, promote preventive healthcare and facilitate access to essential health services for over 1.57 lakh beneficiaries across Punjab.
The centres continue to serve as trusted healthcare resources, ensuring that communities with limited access to healthcare receive timely support, information and care.
Truck drivers are the backbone of India’s transport network, ensuring the movement of goods and supporting economic growth across the country. However, due to long working hours, frequent travel, limited access to healthcare and challenging living conditions, truckers often face significant health risks and barriers to accessing timely medical care.
To address these challenges, PAHAL, with the support of Apollo Tyres under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, operates Apollo Tyres Health Care Centres in Jalandhar and Ludhiana. These centres provide accessible healthcare services, preventive health education, disease screening, counselling and referral support to truck drivers, members of the transport community and other vulnerable populations.
The centres focus on promoting awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), sexually transmitted infections (STIs), diabetes, vision-related issues and other communicable and non-communicable diseases. Through outreach activities, health camps, counselling sessions and awareness campaigns, beneficiaries are encouraged to adopt healthier lifestyles, seek timely treatment and access essential healthcare services.
In addition to health education and counselling, the centres provide a range of healthcare services including HIV testing, TB screening, blood sugar testing, vision screening, STI management, general health check-ups, medical consultations and referral support. These services help bridge critical healthcare gaps for communities that often remain underserved by conventional healthcare systems.
Together, the Apollo Tyres Health Care Centres have reached and benefited more than 1,57,000 truck drivers, transport workers and community members, creating lasting improvements in health awareness, disease prevention and access to healthcare.
Through this partnership, PAHAL continues to work towards building healthier communities by ensuring that quality healthcare reaches those who need it the most.
