Since its inception in 1996, PAHAL has been a strong advocate of voluntary blood donation, promoting the belief that every healthy individual has the power to save lives through a simple act of generosity.
What began as a community-driven effort has grown into one of PAHAL’s flagship initiatives, inspiring thousands of individuals to become voluntary blood donors and helping ensure the availability of safe blood for patients in need.
The programme is guided by the philosophy of PAHAL’s founder, Professor Lakhbir Singh, who passionately advocated voluntary blood donation as a social responsibility and a celebration of good health.

Through awareness campaigns, youth engagement, community outreach and partnerships with healthcare institutions, PAHAL continues to encourage people from all walks of life to become regular voluntary blood donors.

Through Safe Blood Availability and Emergency Blood Assistance
PAHAL works closely with leading healthcare institutions and blood banks to strengthen access to safe blood and promote voluntary blood donation.
Over the years, the organisation has collaborated with Civil Hospital Jalandhar Blood Bank, Fortis Hospital, ohri Hospital, PIMS Hospital, Pasricha Hospital, Orthonova Hospital, Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS), Government of Punjab.
Through these partnerships, PAHAL has successfully organised more than 700 blood donation camps, resulting in the collection of approximately 68,000 units of blood.
PAHAL’s commitment extends beyond organising camps.
The organisation regularly assists patients and families facing emergency situations by helping them connect with voluntary blood donors and blood banks when urgent support is required.
Awareness campaigns, motivational programmes, youth engagement activities and community outreach initiatives are conducted throughout the year to encourage voluntary blood donation and build a culture of compassion and service.
These contributions have helped support patients undergoing surgeries, accident victims, women during childbirth, individuals battling serious illnesses and many others requiring urgent blood transfusions.

A significant contribution to the movement has come from Mrs. Harvinder Kaur, President of PAHAL, who has dedicated herself to promoting voluntary blood donation and encouraging greater participation among women.
Having donated blood more than 70 times, she has received multiple state-level recognitions and is widely acknowledged for her outstanding contribution to voluntary blood donation. Her efforts have helped challenge misconceptions surrounding blood donation and inspired many women to become regular blood donors.
Through awareness campaigns, motivational programmes and personal example, she continues to encourage women to participate actively in this life-saving movement.
PAHAL believes that access to safe blood is a shared social responsibility. Through voluntary blood donation, individuals can make a direct and meaningful contribution to saving lives and strengthening healthcare systems.
The Voluntary Blood Donation Initiative continues to promote compassion, community participation and humanitarian values, ensuring that every donated unit of blood becomes a source of hope for someone in need.
If you are healthy, consider becoming a voluntary blood donor. Your decision could help save lives and make a lasting difference to families and communities.
