As populations age and the change in our society’s demography, demand for quality home-based care continues to grow, there is an increasing need for trained caregivers who can provide professional and compassionate support to elderly individuals and those requiring assistance at home.
To address this need, PAHAL, with the support of SOSVA Punjab, launched the Home and Elderly Care Training Programme in January 2025. The programme aims to equip young women with practical caregiving skills while creating pathways to employment in the healthcare and home-care sectors.
Through a combination of classroom learning and practical training, participants develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to provide quality care and support to senior citizens and individuals requiring home-based assistance.

Preparing Young Women for Opportunities in the Healthcare and Home-Care Sectors
The Home and Elderly Care Training Programme is designed to develop skilled and compassionate caregivers capable of supporting the health, well-being and dignity of elderly individuals and others requiring home-based care.
The six-month training programme combines theoretical instruction with practical learning to ensure that participants are well prepared for caregiving roles.
PAHAL believes that quality care and dignity for senior citizens are essential components of a compassionate society. Through the Home and Elderly Care Training Programme, we aim to strengthen caregiving capacity, promote women’s empowerment and contribute to the growing need for skilled care professionals.
By investing in skills, knowledge and empathy, the programme supports both the personal development of participants and the well-being of the communities they serve.
This programme is implemented by PAHAL with the support of SOSVA Punjab as part of its commitment to skill development, women’s empowerment and community well-being.
